Bushing materials
The material decides what a bushing can carry, how fast, how hot and with what lubrication. These pages give the numbers for each material Bushing MFG works in and the comparisons that settle most selection questions.

Reading the numbers
Every material page quotes load in N/mm² of projected area (force ÷ bore × length), sliding speed in m/s, PV as the product of the two, and a temperature range. These are separate limits: a bushing may be run at the maximum load or the maximum speed, not both, and the PV limit ties them together. Where a value is a catalogue or standard figure rather than a Bushing MFG test result, the page says so.
