Bearing Load Formula

To find the bearing loads in a radial shaft system, use the following formulas:

  • Bearing Load 1: R1=L2×PL1+L2R1 = \frac{L2 \times P}{L1 + L2}R1=L1+L2L2×P​
  • Bearing Load 2: R2=L1×PL1+L2R2 = \frac{L1 \times P}{L1 + L2}R2=L1+L2L1×P​

Where:

  • R1R1R1 and R2R2R2 are the loads on Bearing 1 and Bearing 2, respectively.
  • PPP is the total radial load applied between the bearings.
  • L1L1L1 is the distance from Bearing 1 to the load.
  • L2L2L2 is the distance from Bearing 2 to the load.

For clarity, let’s use this data:

  • Radial Load (P): 300 N
  • Distance to Bearing 1 (L1): 7 meters
  • Distance to Bearing 2 (L2): 8 meters

Calculations
